Our History and Heritage
Level21's story begins in everyday industry life – where strategies often look good on paper but get stuck in reality. When the company was founded in 2008, our founders saw a recurring pattern: middle managers who were expected to implement management's visions but who were met with resistance, resource shortages, and micromanagement. "It can't be done," they were told.
They then gave the problem a name – the strategy gap – and made it Level 21's mission to build bridges between strategy and implementation.
The connection to industry was further strengthened when Level21 took over ABB's internal management department. This was a decisive step that anchored the company deeply in the industrial environment, complex organizations, and business-critical processes. There, in the midst of production, technology, and global value chains, Level21's approach emerged: practical, in close collaboration with the customer, and with a full focus on making change happen —and not stopping at strategies.
Unlike many traditional consulting firms, Level21 chose to work closely with the customer. With broad industrial experience, good business acumen, and the ability to shift perspectives, the company has helped organizations translate business plans into concrete action plans that deliver sustainable results. Our motto, " warm heart, cool head, and quick feet," sums up our approach well and has remained unchanged since the beginning.
In November 2025, Level21 took the next step in its development when founders Peter Modig, Henrik Linder, and Beatrice Björk sold a majority stake in the company to Dutch consulting firm TMC (The Member Company). The deal marked both a generational shift and a continued commitment to developing Level21's industrial heritage – with the same basic idea as always: to close the strategy gap and make real change possible.
